This is what the booth's contents should be like. Download a QuickTime VR by Bill Medlow.

The desks in with the people in white shirts are in area that LIMac will be in all three days of the expo. The colors may not be as shown here. There will be something on the signs above our heads. The brown rectangular area for the booth carpeting corresponds with the 20 by 40 foot dimensions of the pink box in the graphic at the top of this page. The starting view angle is from the lower left corner of the booth, say standing with your back to the NetLedger booth. The other user groups will, for the most part, occupy one section each, for a single day.

Can you see the grey box on the desk in front of the standing man? That box should look a lot like a Power Mac G4 Cube. That's where people will be putting in their business cards for a chance to win a great raffle prize.

Now we've set up the actual booth at the Jacob Javits Expo hall. Approaching the Javits center you can't miss the big Apple signs they have put up.

A bit closer and you see the MacWorld sign on the building.

They start with bare black floors. It's a bit weird seeing the expo room like this. They move heavy stuff around with high-lows and fork-lifts. The North East Mac User Groups booth starts with a 20 by 40 foot patch of bright red carpeting covered with plastic to protect it. Here we see Rick Matteson and Bill Medlow measuring and marking the edges for precise placement of the 11 desks which will become the booth.

Following along the edge we mark off the edge which will line up with a corner of one of the 2 by 8 foot draped desks. Here Bradley does some work with the master plans in hand. You can see in the background other booths under construction.

The desks arrive and in short order they are covered in white fabric and a black drape is stapled around 3 sides plus the ends of the last side. Here we show in the forground the precisely placed first desk. Beyond you can see the stack of desks and the production of the next desks.

The unique and innovative arrangement of the desks is building. We have the first two desks of what will be the section that LIMac will be seated at all three days of the exhibition.

The "sub-booth" #4, where LIMac will be found is now complete. It seems the Freeman Decorating crew is racing each other to finish the other desks. They have delayed their lunch for us, so we appreciate the extra effort.

The fourth desk is moved into position and Bill Medlow is just taking these pictures at this point. We put him to work later.

Moving the 5th desk into place. Can you see the overall shape forming?

This is starting to get a bit complicated, so we check the plan after placing the 6th desk. That concludes the sub-booth #3 where for two days, other user groups will be seated. On Friday, LIMac will be in this space too.

Rick and Bradley have placed the 7th desk and wondering if Bill will put the camera down.

Rick eyes the alignment of the 8th desk. We will have to make some slight adjustments since the carpet is not precisely 20 by 40 foot. The Javit's 3rd floor where the Expo is held is pretty big and this view only shows maybe a quarter of it. (The far right rear corner) The Internet Cafe will be against the right wall in this view.

The 9th desk and it's looking good so far as Rick and Brad go for the next desk.

Luckily the desks are quite light as the tenth desk is in place. Just one more to go.

A joyous Bradley and Rick indicate the last desk is in place. The crisp white top to the desk and the black drape should go nicely with the dress code for the LIMac booth staffers. The red carpet in the booth will blend with the rest of the red carpeting to be placed in the aisles before the expo opens on Wednesday morning.

LIMac President Bill "El Heffe" Medlow and his domain. The chairs will be delivered later. You'll notice he finally put down the camera.

Now that we have desks to work on, Bradley starts finishing the raffle boxes by applying the artwork. The raffle box in the LIMac section will look like a big Power Mac G4 Cube.. Rick and Bill got to work on the stands and rod for the LIMac banner. The tabletop sign was easy to set up and looks great.

The other user groups get plain white boxes for the drawings each day, but we put on the contest rules and the great picture of the Statue of Liberty on them.

Finally we can test hang the eight foot banner for our section of the booth and rise it into position. Rick admires the handiwork on the cube drawing box. We even tried to get the ventilation slots on top about right.
